Kate Reynolds Thorson

Director of Gender Equality

Kate is a Director and Gender Equality Lead, where she advises philanthropic and mission-driven organizations and coalitions on strategy development, program and operating model design, investment planning, and measurement and evaluation. With 20+ years of experience, her work spans gender equality and global and U.S. health, with a focus on women’s health, including reproductive health, maternal health, maternal mental health, and women’s health innovation. She especially enjoys guiding multi-stakeholder initiatives from shared vision to action.

Before Camber, Kate was Rwanda Program Manager for Partners In Health, strengthening strategy, planning, and operations across 30 in-country programs that delivered community-based primary and secondary health care in partnership with the Ministry of Health. She remains connected to Rwanda as a board member of Ubuntu Center for Peace, which advances community-based mental health care. She holds an MBA from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and a B.S. with distinction and honors from the University of Wisconsin.

Kate is based in Seattle but dreams of living in the Italian countryside to perfect her pizzaiola and pasta making skills. Hailing from Minnesota, she’s always down for a lake jump or cold plunge. She enjoys playing music and dancing with her two young kids.
