Gender Equality

We work with partners to expand health, opportunity, power, and agency for women, girls, and gender-diverse people while transforming the systems that drive inequality.

What We Do

Where policy, systems, and social norms fail women and girls, these ramifications compound across outcomes in health, economic prosperity, leadership, and personal agency. Our work spans US and global contexts. We target the levels where these structures are set: the research agendas, funding flows, policies, and norms that decide who gets counted, resourced, and heard.

How Our Work Takes Shape

  • Advancing women’s health and wellbeing: Closing the gaps in women’s health across the life course, spanning sexual and reproductive health, maternal and mental health, and the many conditions that affect women differently or disproportionately yet remain underfunded and understudied.
  • Expanding economic opportunity and mobility: Removing policy barriers and building the care infrastructure and financial and workforce systems that determine whether women can earn, own and build wealth.
  • Building power, leadership, and agency: Designing the structures, coalitions, and pipelines that bring women into decision-making, from community organizations to global institutions.

We are driving toward a world where all women and girls can make their own choices, get the care they need, and pursue their dreams without fear or discrimination.
