Lekia is a global health and development professional with over a decade of experience strengthening health systems, advancing policy, and building partnerships that deliver lasting change. She combines deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, people-centred approach to the complex challenges that define development work.
Prior to joining Camber, Lekia spent over a decade leading public health programs across medical oxygen and respiratory care, malaria, essential medicines, child health, and sexual, reproductive and maternal health. She has built trusted relationships with government at national and subnational levels, working with ministries of health, health agencies, and non-health parastatals to shape policy and drive implementation. Across her career, she has worked collaboratively with a range of global health funders and partners including the Gates Foundation, Unitaid, The Global Fund, PATH, ELMA Philanthropies, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Merck for Mothers, WHO, UNICEF, USAID, FCDO, and GiveWell.
Lekia holds a Master’s in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science from Nottingham Trent University, and a Leadership and Management Certificate from the Wharton School. When she steps away from work, she volunteers at medical outreaches in her church and local community, travels, and treasures time with her family
